CLASSES AVAILABLE THROUGH OUR STUDIO

Spend a day or two in the Hill Country of Austin, Texas at our secluded
studio learning simple glass art techniques from my wife, Gail and I.
Gail is a practicing spiritual director and is involved in the God of Hope prison ministry,
Celebrate Recovery, and a founding member in Soul Care Kenya .
Robert has won awards for his art since 1979 and is involved in
Kairos Prison Ministry,
Celebrate Recovery and is currently studying to become a drug and alcohol counselor in
the Texas prison system.
Together, they have taught art glass classes for 23 years at the HEB Foundations Laity
Lodge retreat center in Leakey Texas.

Although our studio is secluded, we are in close proximity to several economically priced hotels for your
convenience.

We try to keep our classes to no more than 12 persons but with advance planning can provide retreats for
up to 20 persons. We especially invite church staff as well as mens and women's retreats and if your
facility has a large space, we have taught up to 30 persons in a one day class. Call us and we will plan a
weekend or weekday for your group.
Glass cross making:
A technique of building glass crosses and small sculptural objects. You
will learn to cut glass and use ultraviolet glue to build simple to very
complex glass crosses. A great way to make gifts, this class will give you
enough time to build several pieces depending on your ambitiousness.
We have seen folks make from three to ten crosses in a day.
Cost $75.00

Basic glass etching:
This class will give you the basic skills to etch a piece or several small
glass items. (Coasters, wine glasses, vases, bowls etc...) Bring your own
glass or select from our inventory of affordable items.
Cost $ 100.00 plus materials

Advanced etched glass
This class will encompass two days of work. It is designed to provide you
with a larger project (window hanging, front door glass, bathroom privacy
window, small table top). Prior to attending, you will need to acquire the
piece of glass you intend to work on. This can be done by consulting
with us as to the type of glass you need. We can order from your
measurements and probably beat any price in town. The first class will
be masking and learning the techniques of cutting the pattern. The
second class will be finishing the cutting process and sandblasting the
piece. If you choose a very intricate pattern, we suggest you take the
piece home with you to complete cutting before bringing back to blast.
Cost $ 300 plus glass (if needed)
